Several years ago, Shawn and Toni went to HELP The Animals to look at adopting a new dog.  Instead, they came home with Malenko, who is now bigger than their little dachshund, Duke.

Malenko is a very affectionate cat that loves people and makes sure he never misses a meal.  In April 2010, Malenko was brought in for Dr. Logue to check over.  Shawn and Toni were concerned that he'd lost some weight and was losing his hair.  After running several tests, Dr. Logue diagnosed Malenko with diabetes and started him on insulin injections twice a day.

For the first several months after his diagnosis, Malenko came into the clinic every couple of weeks for Dr. Logue to monitor his blood glucose and adjust his insulin.  Now, a little over one year later, Malenko is a happy and well-adjusted diabetic cat who enjoys all of his special attention.
