FAQ's About Pet's
Q.
Will spaying or
neutering my dog calm him or her down?
A. Spaying and neutering will not
always calm a pet down. Metabolism may be slowed a bit and some behavior
issues may be prevented if the surgery is done earlier.

neutering.
Q.
Do I
need to give my pet heartworm prevention all year round?
A. Yes. Giving your pet his or
her heartworm prevention all year round gives your pet the best protection
against heartworms. Heartworm preventions also prevent other parasites as
well, so it’s important to keep your pet protected.

Q.
Why do I need to bring in a stool sample? I don’t see
any worms in it.
A. Just because you can’t see
parasites, doesn’t mean they aren’t there. There are some that are visible
to the naked eye but others who lay eggs that are passed in the stool. This
is why we use a microscope; so we can check for parasite eggs.

the more common parasites found in pets.
Q. Why
can’t I just use over-the-counter flea prevention?
A. We use and recommend Frontline
for fleas and ticks for dogs. We also use
Revolution for cats. These products
are proven to be safe and are the most effective at keeping your pet
protected. Otherwise, we wouldn’t use them on our own pets.
Q.
Can I give my cat Tylenol or aspirin?
A. No! Never give a cat Tylenol
or aspirin. Cats lack the ability to absorb the medication so it will rise
to toxic levels when given. Cats that have been given these medications can
become severely ill with even one dose. Death may even occur.
