Feline Heartworm Disease and Revolution

Pet Care

Revolution

Heartworms are a lethal parasite transmitted by mosquitoes.  The tragedy with this foe is that is can so easily be defended against.  It can cause serious illness and even kill with little or no warning.  Even if a cat is indoors all the time, it is not completely protected.  In fact, 25% of heartworm positive cats are indoor cats.  There is no approved treatment for cats with heartworm disease.  That’s why prevention is so important.  We recommend and use Revolution for the prevention of heartworms in cats.

Roundworms are a common intestinal parasite that can be transmitted to humans.  Hookworms can infect humans as well.  Fleas can be a host for tapeworms and other parasites.  They can be difficult to eradicate once they take up residence in your home.  Ear mites are painful and annoying.  If left untreated they can cause serious damage to the ear and a secondary infection.  All of these can be prevented with the use of Revolution.

Coughing, difficulty breathing, vomiting, and sudden death are signs of heartworm infection in a cat.  It’s difficult to diagnose in the early stages but is very easy to prevent with an easy, monthly topical application of Revolution.

Revolution is an easy to apply, monthly topical that you can pick up from your veterinarian.  Continue Revolution every month, all year round to keep your cat protected against heartworms and other parasites.
