In Memory of "Basco" Snapp
2003 - 2018
Some of you met him at various K-9 Demos around the Richmond area, some of you saw him in passing, and some of you were able to know him as a friend and protector. But to Dean & Shari Snapp, Basco was family! We would like to take a moment and thank "Basco" for his years of service to our community with the Richmond Police Canine Unit. All of us here at TLC Pet Hospital were blessed to be able to spend time with him during his Laser Therapy sessions. Although age had taken it's toll on his body, Basco was always happy to see us!
A note from Basco's owner: Dean Snapp
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that I announce the passing of my K-9 partner, Basco. Some of you knew Basco and some didn't but he's family to Shari and I. He was my police partner for 9 1/2 years and we retired together. He has been my partner, friend, and family member (son) for 12 1/2 years. I've always played second fiddle to Basco because he has always been the attention getter. He could make you laugh and in some instances cry. He would cheer me up when I needed it and when I was doing K-9 demos with him he would always do something funny to break the tension I was feeling caused by my speaking in front of a crowd. I like to think that Basco lead a good and happy life until recently when he was overcome by some very painful medical problems. He has always been loved by Shari and I and he will be forever loved and missed. I would like to take a moment and thank Dr. Jeff Logue and his staff at TLC Pet Hospital. They have been great through the whole ordeal. Their professionalism, kindness, ans assistance through this very difficult time are more appreciated than Shari and I can ever express."
"Rest in Peace Basco"
