A little note from Boss' owners
We adopted Boss in early 2018 from one of our local shelters. He is a Rottweiler/Shepherd mix and is estimated to be seven or eight years old. Boss spent several months in the shelter before we met him and immediately fell in love. We believe that he had not been adopted due to his medical issues. Boss was born with laryngeal paralysis and had also developed a large fatty tumor on his left front shoulder. We decided to adopt him and provide him with the best quality of life that we could.
Over the first few months at home with us, we observed that he was having trouble walking due to the fatty tumor on his shoulder. We made an appointment to have Dr. Logue see Boss, which led to his first surgery. Dr. Logue and his staff did an excellent job removing the tumor from his shoulder. Boss was almost completely recovered from this surgery when we noticed he was now limping on his right front leg and appeared to be in pain. We made another trip to TLC for Dr. Logue to see Boss and this time were informed that Boss had bone cancer in his right front leg. This diagnosis led to Boss' second surgery with Dr. Logue; this time to amputate the right leg at the shoulder due to the bone cancer. Once again Dr. Logue and his staff did a great job and I am happy to say that Boss is almost fully recovered from surgery. He is doing very well and at times it's hard to tell he is missing a leg.
Boss is very happy, and we couldn't possibly love this guy any more than we do! He loves his stuffed animals, playing fetch and tug of war, being spoiled, and hogging the bed! For his size he is as gentle as they come and is extremely well behaved and loves attention. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Logue and everyone at TLC for the professionalism, kindness, thoughtfulness, and caring that we have received from them. It is because of them that we can provide Boss with the best quality of life possible.
